Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 21, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to this website, its contact and newsletter forms, its analytics, its download links, and the products we make, including Gloamy and ShowMe.

This website is a landing page for Gloamy. Gloamy itself is a separate Rust codebase and is designed to run on-device. This site is not the hosted runtime for the product.

ShowMe is a macOS voice companion, powered by Google Gemini, that can listen to your voice, view your screen, and help control your computer when you ask it to.

We designed our products to collect as little data as practical. Some ShowMe data must be processed by Gemini and other third-party services for the app to work.

Gloamy Product Data

Based on the current Gloamy product information presented on this site:

  • Gloamy is an on-device product
  • the Gloamy application is not operated as a hosted cloud service from this website
  • we do not use this website to collect or store your prompts, files, local workflow state, or local agent memory as part of normal product use

Information ShowMe Processes

Gemini API key

If you use your own Gemini API key, ShowMe stores it locally in macOS Keychain. It is used to connect directly to Google Gemini Live. We do not receive or store your Gemini API key.

Voice and screen content

When assistant mode is active, ShowMe may stream microphone audio, screenshots, accessibility labels, and related screen context to Google Gemini so the assistant can understand your request and what is on your screen.

This may include visible text, app/window names, UI labels, and anything visible in the screenshot at that moment.

Dictation mode

ShowMe's dictation insert mode uses Apple Speech Recognition to turn speech into text. When supported by your Mac and language settings, recognition may run on-device. Otherwise, Apple's speech recognition service may process the audio according to Apple's terms and privacy practices.

Accessibility and automation data

ShowMe uses macOS Accessibility APIs to understand visible UI elements and to perform actions you request, such as clicking, typing, scrolling, or pressing shortcuts. This processing happens locally on your Mac, except where screen context is sent to Gemini for assistant reasoning.

Analytics

If you opt in to product-health analytics, ShowMe sends limited usage and reliability events to PostHog. These events may include things like app launches, onboarding progress, permission status changes, push-to-talk usage, error categories, and coarse grounding/debug metadata.

ShowMe does not intentionally send your transcript text, Gemini responses, screenshots, API keys, or typed content to PostHog. Some analytics events may include counts or categories, such as character count or error type.

Information This Website May Receive

Even though Gloamy is on-device and ShowMe stores key product settings locally, this website may still receive limited information when you interact with it.

We may receive:

  • your name, email address, company name, and message if you submit the contact form
  • your email address if you join the newsletter or release list
  • the contents of any email you send to support at
  • basic website analytics and interaction events, such as page visits, download clicks, and checkout navigation

How We Use Website Information

We use website-submitted information to:

  • respond to support requests and product inquiries
  • send product updates or newsletter emails you asked for
  • understand site usage, downloads, and page performance
  • improve the website and related communications

What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not intentionally collect passwords, payment card numbers, two-factor codes, or secret tokens.
  • ShowMe is designed to avoid automatically typing into secure fields such as password fields.
  • We do not store your Gemini conversations on our own servers as part of the app's normal operation.

Third-Party Services

This landing page and ShowMe currently rely on third-party services for some website and product functions.

These may include:

  • Formspree for contact and newsletter form delivery
  • Vercel Analytics for website analytics
  • GitHub for release downloads and source code links
  • Google Gemini for realtime assistant voice, vision, reasoning, and tool planning
  • Apple Speech Recognition for local dictation insert mode
  • PostHog for product-health analytics if analytics are enabled
  • payment providers such as Creem, Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, or another checkout provider for purchases

Those services may process technical data, submitted form data, payment data, or product context according to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not store full payment card details.

What We Do Not Sell

We do not sell personal information submitted through this website.

ShowMe Permissions

ShowMe may request:

  • Microphone permission, so you can speak to the assistant
  • Screen Recording permission, so ShowMe can see your screen when you ask for help
  • Accessibility permission, so ShowMe can understand and interact with UI elements
  • Speech Recognition permission, for dictation insert mode

You can revoke these permissions at any time in macOS System Settings.

Data Storage

  • Your Gemini API key is stored locally in macOS Keychain.
  • Preferences such as analytics opt-in, onboarding state, and app settings may be stored locally using macOS UserDefaults.

Data Retention

  • We do not retain product runtime data from the on-device Gloamy application through this website.
  • We may retain support emails, contact form submissions, and newsletter signups for as long as needed to respond, operate the website, or manage requested communications.

Data Deletion

You can:

  • avoid submitting contact or newsletter forms if you do not want to share that information
  • unsubscribe from newsletter emails at any time
  • remove your Gemini API key from the ShowMe app panel
  • disable analytics in ShowMe if analytics are enabled
  • email us to request deletion of any account, purchase, support, or analytics data we may have

Security Policy

ShowMe is powerful because it can view your screen and control your Mac when you ask it to. We treat that access carefully.

Local Security

  • Your Gemini API key is stored in macOS Keychain, not plain UserDefaults.
  • ShowMe uses macOS permission prompts for microphone, screen recording, accessibility, and speech recognition.
  • You can revoke permissions at any time in System Settings.

Assistant Actions

  • ShowMe only performs computer-control actions through the app's workflow system.
  • Before clicking or typing, ShowMe attempts to resolve and verify the target UI element using accessibility data, screen context, and safety checks.
  • ShowMe avoids typing into secure fields such as passwords, passcodes, two-factor codes, credit-card fields, and secret-token inputs.

Network Security

  • Connections to third-party services such as Google Gemini and PostHog use HTTPS or secure WebSocket connections.
  • ShowMe does not operate a general screen-recording backend. In normal use, screen and audio context are sent directly from your Mac to the configured AI service when needed for assistant functionality.

Known Limitations

  • AI models can make mistakes. ShowMe may misunderstand your request or misidentify something on screen.
  • Computer-control features are best treated as assisted automation, not guaranteed execution.
  • You should not ask ShowMe to handle sensitive credentials, private keys, financial approvals, or irreversible actions without reviewing what is happening.
